Description
Have you always loved the incredible show of a Wisteria vine in full bloom, but didn’t want to spend the rest of your life trying to control its growth? Introducing ‘Snow Showers’, a Japanese Wisteria with a less aggressive habit than its Chinese cousins, which can run wild! That being said, don’t think this one is that mild mannered. It does grow quickly and will require some occasional pruning when not provided ample room to grow.
The flowers on Snow Showers are simply amazing. White, pea like flowers in draping clusters up to 2 feet long give the impression of snowflakes falling in springtime. A sweet fragrance typical of Wisteria accompanies the white flowers. Lime green foliage adds nice color to the garden. Great for use on arbors, trellises, pergolas, around and up a tree, or along the top of a a fence.
Landscape & Garden Uses
Growing quickly to 20 feet or more in height/length, Snow Showers Wisteria is ideal for use to grow up and over sturdy arbors, pergolas, and other over head structures that might benefit from the support of a flowering vine. Very nice growing along the tops of fences or rails or up tall columns or posts. Can also be trained to grow as a very attractive small, free-standing tree. As it often does in the wild, this wisteria can be grown up and throughout the branches of large trees without compromising the health of the tree.
Growing Preferences
Snow Showers is widely adaptable to various soil types and thrives in a wide range of pH (4.5-7). We suggest a moist but well-drained soil of average fertility for fastest growth. The vine is happy in full sun or part shade, however flowering will be diminished in heavy shade. If needed, prune in late winter to reduce the size. Can also be lightly pruned after the spring bloom, which often encourages a heavier second flowering cycle in mid- to late-summer.

I like the way Wilson Bros packs their plants. The top of the plant container is covered with damp paper and semi sealed with clear tape. Even with rough shipping (carrier’s fault), the plants rarely have the planting mix dumped out. The plants arrive in great condition ready for planting.
